Welcome to the McCleery Men’s Club

Established in 1959, the club was formed to provide an environment of friendship
and competition amongst its members. 2009 saw the club celebrate its 50th
Anniversary.
Today we boast nearly 250 members with a wide variety of playing ability (from
scratch to “you name it”). We play in a variety of tournaments from March until
November which are both fun and competitive.
Membership is open to anybody of legal age in BC and consists of paying a one
time initiation fee plus yearly dues. Application forms can be found here.

In Memoriam

It is with great saddness that I tell you that Bruno Ertner's wife, Sharon, passed away last Saturday, April  17th resulting from complications from her cancer treatments. We offer our sincere condolences to Bruno and his family. Bruno wanted his friends at McCleery know that he appreciates their support and looks forward to seeing us later in the summer.

McCleery Masters

The Masters was exciting to the last hole! The one at  Augusta wasn't bad either. Congrats to Walt Humenny who wins his second event of the year. It was almost close at the end but Walt hung on for the win. The biggest noise made on Sunday was the Hole in One by Francois Mayer at #13. Other bright spots included an Eagle 2 on Saturday by Joe Haddad at #6 and eagle 3 by Walt Vanderryst at #14 on Sunday. A lucky break and it's in the hole, easy game. And amazingly there were some birdies at 10 from the blue tees!

Cancellations

I'm sorry to say I'm receiving an alarming number of cancellations after the posting of the draw. Members who signed up but forgot. Those that had someone else sign them up and those who's schedules have changed. Please try to schedule more carefully when signing up as constant changes are challenging to deal with. It means juggling foursomes, reducing needed tee times and having groups as threesomes. We are given a set number of tee times every week. If we are unable to fill them consistently we will lose some of them and less members will be able to play on the weekends in the future.
