Rules, Rules, Rules

in

Well gentlemen, as the chair of the Rules and Handicaps Committee, I thought my job was going to be a breeze this summer.  Apparently not so.  For this past weekend, three situations arose that I had to make a ruling for.  Since some were unsure what the rules of golf allowed for in these cases, I thought I would share them with you.

Match Committee Take Over!

No, it's not as ominous as it sounds. I have garnered a work contract that takes me out to Chilliwack for 12 weeks. Unfortunately I won't be able to commute but will be in town every couple of weeks. In my absence David Tsang has offered to help out along with the Match Committee.

Due to a lack of sign ups and the back to back two day events and maybe the HST there will be an open weekend July 10th & 11th.

Rule of the Week

Recently the Rules Committee had to make a ruling on a questionable play. We hate to pass judgment, but rules are rules.  They are there to keep everything fair, and equitable.

Ball Lost in Hazard?

In order to take a drop alongside a hazard (in order to save stroke AND distance), you must be certain, or virtually certain, that the ball landed in the hazard and is lost there.
