For those of you interested in volunteering, here is a message from Heidi, the Director of Marketing for the Vancouver Golf Tour on how to get involved.
Well gentlemen, as the chair of the Rules and Handicaps Committee, I thought my job was going to be a breeze this summer. Apparently not so. For this past weekend, three situations arose that I had to make a ruling for. Since some were unsure what the rules of golf allowed for in these cases, I thought I would share them with you.
Congratulations to Walt Vanderryst(me) the winner of the 2010 McCleery Seniors Championship. His(my) two day score of 2 under par 140 gave him(me) a seven stroke win over the 2nd place finisher. Since Walt(me) is not old enough (52) Tony LePage the 60 and over Champion will represent McCleery in the Zone 4 Champion of Champions event. Congratulations to Tony on his score of 147. Jim (Sugar) Hault again won in runaway fashion in the "other" age category. Thank you to all those participants who braved the HST and came out an played in this wonderful event.
